CHEER ON THE RUNNERS!

There’s plenty of space around the start and finish area and even more along the route to get a great view and cheer on the runners. The Race Village can be found in the Oxford University Parks and will be open from 7.30am, see you there!

Download the App: Brand new this year is the free Vitality Oxford Half Marathon app – this has been created for both runners and spectators. Simply download the app so that you can track your family and friends taking part in the race in real-time. You can also view the course map, the results and keep up to date with our social media updates on the day. Make sure you’re following us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat!

Food & Drink: There will be a number of pop-up food and drink vendors making up our street food market in the Race Village. Breakfast, lunch, coffee and an array of healthy snacks will be available to keep your energy levels up while your friends and family are running. There are also lots of food and drink options near the start and finish area around Broad Street.

Information on the Day: Look out for our roaming Information Volunteers in the Race Village. They will be wearing bright green ‘Racemaker’ t-shirts and will be able to assist with any queries relating to the event, as well as providing directions. There will also be a help desk in the Race Village.

Meeting Points: Blue, Purple and Silver coloured flags will mark a number of meeting points around the Race Village, making it easier for you to find your loved ones at the end of the race. It will be particularly busy before and after the race so it’s a good idea to arrange a meeting point away from the finish line in advance for those post-race congratulations!

Spectator Points: Get a great view of the start / finish line by coming to cheer on your runners from Broad Street. The race route runs through the city centre so there are plenty of cafés, restaurants and pubs nearby as well as local bands and a DJ to keep you entertained.
Summertown is another great area to watch the race, with a jazz band performing, a variety of cafes and shops and the option to catch runners at both miles 4 and 5 – come and feel the buzz here!
For residents of Marston, come out and support the runners just after the half way point on Oxford Road. The awesome Cherwell Brass Band will be performing outside the Old Marston Library and just up the road, the Red Lion Pub will be open from noon for a bite to eat or a drink.

Entertainment: There will be a whole host of local bands performing along the route, to keep runners motivated and bring the race to life. Jazz bands, a brass ensemble, steel drummers and cool DJs will provide the soundtrack for what promises to be a brilliant day out for the runners and all of their supporting crews!
