Road Closures
Road closure & Diversions
The Vitality Oxford Half Marathon will be taking place on Sunday 11th October 2015. This year sees an exciting new route, with the race starting at 10.00am on St Giles’. We expect to attract up to 7,000 runners; many of whom will be fundraising for local and national charities.
Using the roads of Oxford for the race will cause some temporary changes to usual traffic routes for a limited period on Sunday 11th October. In planning the event every effort is made to minimise the disruption caused due to these road closures. The route has been carefully considered and we are working in close consultation with Oxford City Council, Oxfordshire County Council, public transport providers and the emergency services. Where closures occur, and where possible, diversions will be in place to ensure continued access for motorists and public transport.
