EVENT INFORMATION

The Vitality OXFORD HALF is a fantastic half marathon on a flat, single-lap and traffic-free course, taking you on a tour around the city and along the waterways of Oxford

Now in its 4th year the Vitality OXFORD HALF has grown into one of the most popular road races in the south east, and one of the largest charity fundraisers in the county

Starting at the Kassam Stadium, home of Oxford United FC and London Welsh Rugby, the half marathon threads through the famous MINI Plant at Cowley and continues onto the Iffley Road towards the city centre

This year the half marathon incorporates a short detour off the Iffley Road to accommodate the ‘BBC Radio Oxford Bannister Mile’- one lap around the famous Oxford University athletic track - a unique opportunity to run in Sir Roger Bannister’s footsteps on the track where he broke the first four-minute mile sixty years ago

Rejoining the Iffley Road the course continues over Magdelan Bridge, then through the tranquil Christ Church Meadow, past the boat houses on the river Cherwell, through St Aldates, crossing Folly Bridge, then heading south along the scenic Thames Trail Path before joining Sandford Road to return for a stadium finish in front of a home crowd at the Kassam Stadium

Free medal, T-shirt and goody bag to all finishers

Competitors’ results will include both chip timing for the half marathon and the Bannister Mile

Details of the course route, race day arrangements and spectator points are included on our Race Day Guide
